I luuuuuuv my 3" pans. They are perfect for what I do although if you're doing wedding cakes, I guess they would be more appropriate. Anyone want my double set of 2" cheap? I don't like having to put two pans in the over & then waste the tops. I stuff them in my freezer but hubby doesn't want to eat them, mom can't & I shouldn't. They are opened in case of emergency though.

I heard that some people prefer 3" pans because not only will it allow them to bake taller cakes, but they could still use the same amount of batter as they would use in a 2" pan. So you're basically able to bake 2 different sizes in the same pan.

I have all 3 inch pans because I like to bake them full and then split or torte them for thicker layers of cake. easy peasy no two cakes to bake.

I am also in the "3 inch tall pans" camp. I use them exclusively and love, love, love them!

I just noticed that InTO carries Fat Daddios 4" tall pans - holy cow Batman! I think it's a great idea, but has anyone ever bake cakes in them? I wonder if there's a problem with the middle not being done before the edges. Guess you'd have to use the flower nail trick with them?

I too also prefer the 3" pans. I like to level and then torte and fill for nice layers. I have not seen any 4" pans, and I am interested in hearing from someone who has used one.

I am also a fan of the 3" inch pans, I have recently ordered the 3" sheet cake pans, and I will agree they are easier to cut and torte...I say go for it, at least buy 1 and try it out!! you will love it

I have one of the sheet cake pans in 4inch. I used baking strips, and 3 nails and no prob with cooking evenly or humping in the middle.
