Default Flowers of....?

I just got a request for this cake. Pretty, isn't it?
It's from Carrie's Cakes. You can't see it very well even on the website. I've been staring at it for days trying to figure it out. What's your best guess on how the flowers are made? They have to be pretty small. Fondant and a plunger cutter? royal? buttercream made directly on the cake?
I can't figure it out.
I'd appreciate some "fresh eyes" on this one.
Thanks!

by looking on the site I'd say it's piped directly on the cake, maybe royal for durability?

Wow, that IS hard to see. Some of them are wired GP flowers, because I can see them sticking out from the cake, and of course the top flowers are GP. I think the rest is all piped on the sides of the cakes.

It would be nice to see the detailing on it better, as it looks like it's a lovely cake.

Hmmm....that's a tough one to figure out with the picture she has on her site.

The ones that stand out from the cake look like they were either by a cutter or plunger then maybe formed to dry? The sides puzzle me. Some of it looks like it was piped directly on the cake, but the background flowers or leaves or whatever they are seem to be almost blended into the fondant...maybe airbrushing with piping over it for a more 3 dimensional look???

Yep, I agree it looks like the sides were piped directly on the cake.
I agree with cakepro, the top seems like gumpaste flowers.
They have some great cakes on their site.

Well, I think it's a good thing that she can't see it exactly! There's no way I can compete with Carrie's Cakes!
I think I'm going to make a bunch of small gumpaste flowers so I have extra to play with. For the sides BC hyacinths and leafy stalks mostly, but a few of those extra gumpaste ones for variety. It looks pretty green.
I only have the Wilton plunger cutter. It's pretty limited. Do other cutters fit on that plunger? Has anyone tried the plunger cutters that vein at the same time?
Thanks for all your help!

I have several plunger/veiners from fmm and pme and love them all. I dont think any other plungers fit into the wilton's ones of course!
