Is this a crazy wedding season?

I'm not wragging... I'm just a bit surprised by the number of weddings cakes contracts that we had last month. Is more people getting married now days and celebrating with bigger weddings?

That is may personal perception. What do you think?

We're seeing more remarriages.....so less ornate cakes but more cake in general. I tell ya what, grad cakes and sweet 16 cakes and 1st birthday cakes are sky rocketing around here.
Odd how diff places see different waves of trends in cakes, parties, and such.

In my case, the biggest different is on the wedding cakes. Last year people would order smaller cakes ( 2 tiers usually), and their budgets were tight. This year seams to be 3-4-5 tiers, and with more expensive designs. It's surprising, since every one says around here that we are in recession times...
