Do charge for...
Do you charge a fee for wedding cake delivery or any delivery for that matter?
Do you charge a separate set up fee with wedding cakes?
Do any of you offer cake cutting as a paid service to Bride and Groom or do you just leave a diagram with the facility to insure the cake is cut accordingly?

Re: Do charge for...
When I have attended the parties, I usually cut it. People are most nevous about destroying the cake. In my opinion, I have always thought that what businesses charge for cutting the cake is outrageous ($2/per slice or more in Cali and they charge enough for a cake)! If I had to stay solely for the purpose of cutting, then I would rethink it. For a wedding( or any cake), I think its fair to charge at least the traveling fee if it is out of town especially if it is an hour or more away. Regarding set up fees, not sure, maybe if i is a really coomplicated cake, but wouldn't that be why we charge more for elaboratley decorated cakes??? just thoughts... .gif)

Re: Do charge for...
I am trying to establish how I want to handle these issues. I have only so far made 2 cake wedding wise that I wasn't attending the wedding.
Those both were at a venue that charged a fee to cut the cakes and both times the bride's mother cut them so they didn't need it to be done.

Well, I suppose if you have the time you can charge a nominal fee. I know that by the time my cake ist all set up and done, I usually just want to go home, relax, and take a hot bath! Ah yes, and some coffee!!!

Yeah, but I kinda like the thought of seeing how everyone looks at the cake, what is said, you know kinda snoop. But I am sure many times my nerves will be so glad it's made, there and safe all I may wanna go do is the bath also!
No coffee I need sleep sometime!

Me too, I like to hear what they say especiall y if they don;t know i made it because I never know if people are being honest. I'd rather hear a good critique so I can make it better next time than a polite "it's good" when its not
