Default Tatsings.

In my area seems a lot of people do testings for this, I recently had a bride to be say 2 chain stores and a private bakery said they do not do those but you can always purchase cakes with the type icing, fillers and cake flavors to try! Well duh! I guess you will sell me a 2 layer 8 inch cake before you give me a free sample!
But geesh! This is a wedding people, brides want to be sure what they are ordering, I would!

Chain stores don't do testings here either.

If you're going to buy your wedding cake at Wal Mart or Target, you pretty much know ahead of time what you're getting....not much.

I don't understand a private bakery though. They should at least offer them, even if they charge.

They told her they were an "established" bakery, their rep spoke for them.
My thoughts were, "yeah, your an ass is what I am getting from it!"

I would imagine an established private bakery would atleast have mini frozen cake layers in order to do tastings. It's not much of an expense if you are "established" and do many cakes a month. And its part of the business cost in my opinion.

I totally agree and trust me...it's spreading through the wedding curcuit now...not too favorably either.

You know it still just nags at me that they were so haughty about a tasting...how rude!

I do let people know I dont charge for x number of cup cakes with said icing for tastings.
But if want to try more than there is a charge.
