Default flowers for cakes

do you make your flowers or buy them pre-made in gum paste and silk? I have a lot of brides who just want to use silk flowers they already have or fresh flowers sometimes. Not a lot of call for gum paste ones. So it is more cost effective for me to buy pre-made ones.

I found if I have some time to play around I make alot of foundant ones and store them in air tight containers. When I need a special color I can take them out and use a small paint brush and "paint" gel color to them. It almost makes them alittle more realistic! and I save $$$$ trying to get all the different colors the customers want! What even makes it nicer is to have several silk flower staimens on hand!

I love to play around with making them but they are so far and few between it's not worth it for me to make them. I love to do it though. I'll try to talk a bride into letting me do them if I can...no on has ever complained or not loved them so at last I know I can do them if needed. I'd like to take some classes to help develop my talents with them though.
Anyone take a good flower making class?
Or have one to recommend?

I have ordered from them before...I had an issue with broken flowers and basically got a blow off instead of a fixed situation.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I had them saved in my favorites but couldn't remember if I had ordered before. Most places have a disclaimer that the flowers might not arrive in one piece even though they are packaged for travel.

I just looked it up I ordered some royal icing flowers from sugarcraft.com. I have never ordered gumpaste flowers, I usually make my own.

I found some at cakedeco.com too.
I try to make mine but sometimes the situation just calls for something I'd have to buy stuff to make them like cutters, veiners etc. and it would be cheaper than charging the bride or customer for buying those materials.
If they arent something I 'd have a use for later.

caljava.com does also have good deals on flowers and I have never had a broken one from them. There are good deals on the same flowers on ebay from several people too.
