I always try to get the wilton yearbooks each year because it helps to look through them for ideas when I am in need of them

It sure is a trip to go back and look at old yearbooks! I have all of them from 1978 (I think) to present plus the 3 Wilton encyclopedias and some old hardbound Wilton publications from the 70's. The older books were my mom's from when she was a Wilton instructor in the mid-70's. I LOVED looking through her cake decorating books when I was a little girl, and thankfully, she saves everything, so when I got interested in cake decorating 10 years ago, she gave me everything that she had! I have purchased all of the yearbooks from the 80's on eBay. I love eBay. LOL

When I first started decorating when I was a teenager, I made my mother buy the yearbook every year...couldn't wait for them to come out! That was back in the day before the internet and there wasn't anything out there but Wilton!

I have yearbooks dating back to 1972 through the late 80's, then the internet came along and now I rarely buy a decorating book of any kind.

I always buy them. I've bought some on Ebay too. I think it's a tool that's easy to use when a customer shows up and wants simple ideas. When we're settle on an idea, I usually go into the internet or the other books, to eleborate that idea...
And yes my kids love to look through those books!

I have a few that were donated to me. I don't really see much point in getting them every year as most of the ideas require you have own some of the character pans. It might be different if they did more designs using regular pans (round, square, sheet, etc). The charts for the amount of batter comes in handy, but otherwise it's just an expensive catalog.
