This site is so helpful for making things out of fondant, gum paste and such. It is actually for clay but shoot, fondant and gum paste are edible clay right?

This is great! And the idea is awsome! You can always find instructions on building thigs out of clay, but never fondant. I didn't even think about them being so similar.

When I am trying to reproduce a flower for the first time I always use my son's homemade play dough until I feel I have nailed it. That way I am not wasting gumpaste and he can play with it over and over it does dry out. It also keep him occupied of a while he thinks he is helping mommy and he not eating all that sugar.

What a great way to spend time with your children too!!! They think you are playing when you are really experimenting! Great idea... I believe all of our playdough went out the door years ago... our kids are too old... maybe I will have grandkids some day!

Sculpey makes some really cool stuff! I use to sell the products at an art supply store and kids love the stuff. It all transfers well to working with fondant and gumpaste from what I have seen.
