Re: Patchwork cutters.
roll your paste thin, and I mean thin. put a dab of crisco/shortening on them<cutters> and get them WELL lubed, then if you still have a problem getting them out try tapping them out or take a small hat pin or straight pin and nudge the corners out and then tap them out.

Re: Patchwork cutters.
What about using cooking spray on the cutters, like Pam. In your opinion, do you think that would make the gumpaste come out easier? Just a thought......

Re: Patchwork cutters.
I can see your concern. I guess I'll see when I get home!(hehehe) I woke up at 4:00 this morning to get a start on my swags. Well, to go a little faster, I sprayed Pam in my swag mold and they were just a poppin out!!! BUT, what I did was this, I sprayed the Pam in the mold and then I wiped it out with a paper towel. I didn't want all that yucky stuff on it. The swags came really nicely and I left them to dry on my countertop. I figure they should be hard by the time I get home and hopefully without SPOTS!!!!

Re: Patchwork cutters.
The molds came beautiful!!! Nice and white and no spots!!! I was really worried after our conversation yesterday. When I got home, I went straight to the kitchen to take a look and they came out very nice! Now I'm worried that maybe I made them too soon. The tylose, I'm happy to report, worked like a charm! My swags are stiff and that's what I wanted but now I'm worried that I won't be able to manipulate it the way I want to make it fit and look the way I want once on the cake. Am I wrong or should I just make more swags as I'm ready to place them on the cake?
