That sounds like a holiday for me... I would really have fun working with you in a cake.... and I'm sure I would also learn something.

Would you give us an idea of what your design is going to look like?

For the butter cream , since it's a novelty category I was thinking a carved animal then the smoothed butter cream effect to look like fondant but not be. Maybe a cow or pig since it is the fair!

similar looking to these on michelle foster's site.

I love the fair theme idea. Is there anyone special performing there that maybe you can pick up an idea from? Maybe a performer's guitar? Signature hat? Is there a rodeo? A bull or clown in a barrell. I see smoke coming out of your hat Tuesday.

Ok, here's the plan, we'll pick up Maite, drive by you, be your pot & tip washers, icing mixers, Maite will teach us all her buttercream technique, get your entries in and go to the fair! Sounds like fun!!! Oh, and then stop in Vegas and order a cake from this place & pig out!!!

I'm atta here! I've got to layer & cut a sheet cake to look like a welding helmet. I was hoping to make the old fashioned kind but no, the kid has a fancy schmancy one & would like one like that! UGH!!!! It's "pretty" but the only one who will get a kick out of it is a welder!

I'll trade places with you. I baked a 12x14 sheet cake, made 2 layers, quartered it, stacked 3 of the 1/4s & trying to make a welding helmet. Except for the design on the real helmet, it's not too exciting and my carving is awful! Plus the cake came out dry. I'm debating whether to ditch the whole thing. I used 3 cake mixes and there's not more than 1 mix worth left. I wanted to make a convertible out of the 3D cruiser. He's 17. Back to "work"... I'm not having fun...

Sounds like a plan.

But instead of cake, can we go for lobster?

Hey Jazz... can we see the welding helmet when is finished? I'm curious to see what it looks like.
