New Features Thread...

We are getting close to the upgrade of the forum. I would like this thread to be the one for input on the following requests, these are ones we are planning on implementing but would like input before we finalize the upgrade plans.....

New Forums:

It has been requested that we start a "Spanish Speaking" category area. We will be doing this, but is there any input on to what forums to have? I think it would be kind of hard to have all the different categories in one forum.

Since cupcake threads have been really taking off, we have been thinking about starting a "Cupcakes" category forum, any ideas for sub-forums off that category?

A Recipe Category with the following forums:
Recipes
- Cakes
- Cookies
- Candies
- Icings/Frostings
- Fillings


Any more ideas, input before we do the upgrade? Always looking to provide you with the things that assist you.

couldn't you just do the same categories for the spanish as english or would that be too much?

cup cakes categories:
cupcake cakes
recipes<or this cupcake category in the recipe section
petite fours
pans
cupcake papers
cc towers
designing cc
cc books
just a few off the top of my head.
Cool to see so much in the works.

Maybe a section in the recipes area for helpful tips? A central gallery for photos would be nice, too.

How about a "suggestion box"? Right now our suggestions are just about everywhere. So instead of having to pm you, or putting it into a thread, just have one central place where people can put suggestions, and you can find them.
Hopefully that will be my last edit....but who knows, I'm scatterbrained today.

Yeah I love the idea of the recipe section and a central gallery section

What about also if we have a How-To section? for articles or instructions on how to make certain cakes and cookies, etc??

i also think a section for gumpaste and fondant figures would be nice. probably not so much a priority as other stuff but still, nice.

maybe you could have a section that people can showcase their creations with a focus on the stuff from ITO they used to create them. just a thought.

I like the idea, but we probably will just stick with the contests. If you haven't noticed, we don't have advertising on our site, which is one of the reasons it is so rockin' fast.

Seeing as we don't advertise other people, we do not want to turn the site into a blatant advertising scheme for our store either. Other than the banner up at the top, that will be about the only advertising you see on the board.

You are always welcome to use your BLOG as an area to post anything you want (within reason ). I have noticed a number of people who have started using them and have even started their own "Social Group". We like seeing that. We started this as a site for you decorators, not for us.

P.S. We love the suggestions, we will be implementing most of them. Some sooner than later, but it will be staggered, only so many hours in the day ya know.
