5.4 earthquake in ILL and ky this morn!!!!!

My friend in Chicago emailed this morning saying she felt it. Crazy! Wasn't someone just talking about "earthquake weather"? lol I didn't think it'd be in the midwest though.

I know I saw that thread and almost spit my drink out laughing!
Our dogs tackled me about 3 minutes before we felt it so we knew something was amiss but we have never had an earthquake here!,,,well not in years and years.

Holy cow! Hope everyone is ok there.

I willingly moved to the middle of earthquake country. Western Washington lies along the Juan de Fuca fault line, and there was 6.8 magnitude earthquake here in February 2001. The epicenter was @ 10 miles north of Olympia (where I live) and did quite a bit of damage. I moved here in October 2002, and although there have been some minor earthquakes, I haven't really experienced one yet (knock on wood!).

I bet it was pretty difficult explaining to the dogs what the earthquake was!

I was busy trying to breathe under a 120 lb. dog, a 55 pound dog and a 45 pound dog.....

Wow, hope everyone is okay. How did the kis handle it?

I actually don't mind earthquakes all that much. Of course, I've also never had anything major happen to me before in one either. My prayer is that if the "big one" does ever hit, that my kids are with me when it happens. I would be terrified if they weren't with me, and I couldn't get to them.
