My daughter, much to my dismay, has never shown the slightest interest in cake decorating. She's 26, so I thought for sure that she was a lost cause.
Then, I get a call from her at work this morning asking me about a cake she wanted done. No big deal, she calls me all the time about doing cakes. But when I started in with..ok, so what they want on it blah, blah...she hesitated and said...ummmm, what do you think about ME doing it?
I was speechless! Granted, she wants me to bake the cake (and could I do that today???

) and wants me to ice it, cover it in chocolate fondant and have zippie bags of icing made up for her when she comes to get the goodies...but still, my kid wants to decorate a cake!!! I'm thrilled!
I'm less than thrilled that she wants it all today, but hey, it's my kid, what can you do?
I think she'll do fine, she's very talented with drawing and is really artistic. The cake is going to be decorated with some type of gaming theme ( I am lost when it comes to gamers!!!), just a 1/4 sheet and it sounds pretty simple. We'll see how she does!
And here I thought she was a lost cause!
