Regular gas is $3.15 a gallon in Des Moines Iowa. Milk is almost $4.00 a gallon for 1 percent, and eggs are $1.96 a dozen. What really gets me is the price of walnuts. At Sams they have gone up to almost $15.00 for two pounds. Pecans have dropped to almost $9.00 for two pounds. It use to be that you could get walnuts for less. I can still buy 25 pounds of flour for $8.00. I won't even talk about the prices of coffee. I am really glad that I don't have a family to feed. It's bad enough with two cats.

My gosh with the way everything is going up, how can we people afford to have luxuries, like buy these expensive cars and take vacations and buy these huge houses? And I don't have any kids yet!

Gas prices are all over the map here. Locally I'm paying $3.09, but I just got back from going to my daughter's who lives 40 miles away and gas was $3.25!! I drove home on fumes, I was not about to pay that.

I said months ago that $3.15 was my ceiling, after that, I'm just not driving unless someone else is footing the bill. It's insane and frankly, I'm sick of it.

I don't know how everyday people are affording it. I know we're not. My husband drives a great deal for his job and it's about to kill us. We spent over $10k last year in gas alone. Don't you just hate those year end reviews the credit card companies let you download?

We almost always go to DisneyWorld once a year, either in the summer or at Christmas...well it's not happening this summer and I don't see it happening this Christmas either.

It's depressing!!!

it is ridiculous! i bet the trucking industry is really hurting. i think a lot of them are individuals who own their own trucks.

The local truckers went on strike here since diesel is over $4.00 a gallon. I don't see how they are making it. With gas the prices they are I am going to have to buy a goat to mow my lawn.

$3.43 here. The worst part (to me) is that the price will go up by $0.20 at a time. Shoot! I'll drive a kid to school, and then on the way home it's $0.20 more. Crazy!!!

And why is it that when the price per barrel goes up, the price at the pump rises within hours..but, when the price per barrel drops we're lucky if we ever see the price go down?

Things that make you go hmmmmmm.....

I might not resent it so much if the oil companies weren't making huge, record profits every quarter. Something stinks here....
