I have papers everywhere, I'm pulling my hair out and my husband is one lucky man to have gone to work an hour ago. Anything is better than this!!!!

Let's see...he works a regular job, a part time job with non-reimbursed expenses and has a very small business of his own on the side. I have my business....egads!!!! Accountant you say??? Me too, but the big guy who just slithered out the door leaving me to do this insisted HE could handle the taxes.

Does anyone even need to ask if we'll be paying in this year? Does anyone who gets a refund actually wait this long to file?

Oh, and I got a call from the big guy saying not to expect to get out tomorrow....the roads were beginning to flood when he left and it's been raining all night and is supposed to keep raining through tomorrow.

You need a CPA!
We always did our own taxes until the year DH graduated. In that one year we had a baby, moved out of state, he was in school, and finished with school, I had worked for half a year, cashed in my teachers retirement, we qualified for child credits...blah, blah, blah!! We decided to splurge and have someone do it for us. That was 5 years ago, and we haven't done our own taxes since!

Turbo Tax is what we use. My husband works full time, also works self employed part time for a limousine company. We have had many strange years in the past, and I always use turbo tax.

i agree - try a cpa. we got an accountant years ago. yes, you pay a fee but it is nice to have someone else take care of it!

Well I've had it! We're going to file an extension, then go visit a good CPA. He won't like it, but he's not the one sitting here trying to figure how just how does one go about figuring out the adjusted basis of a trade-in vehicle that was used for 2 business and personal use and commuting........am I making your head hurt yet??

I'm throwing enough money at them that I hope it will cover what we owe, I'd hate to have to pay penalties or interest on top of my regular taxes!

We use Turbo Tax as well, and have for over 5 years now. They have so many different versions, that you can definately find one that would fit all your needs.

Our taxes were done on Feb. 1, we received our refunds within 2 weeks, and of course now they are all but a memory!!!

Ever since I was able to file taxes, I had gone to my parents accountant. Then wen I got married we just kept going to him. It is so much easier, just get all the forms and let him do the work!

I've had my refund for two months now...(I get made fun of at work because I make my appointment in January ) I like ot get things done and out-of-the-way!

sorry you are having such problems filing! We filed back in February, and we are still sitting on our refund .. well at least for another week .. until we take off to the smoky mountains for our five year anniversary!!! WOOO HHOOO

Ever since I started my cake business, my husband started his and our children had the nerve to grow up and leave home, we've paid in.
