Default Need Ideas Please!

I used to do wedding tastings in my house. I would clean everything DH would take the kids out for an hour, I'd put on music and dress my table very elegantly....Bah! Too much work! Plus, I felt like I was hovering while people wanted to discuss...nobody likes that!!
So I decided that I would do a fancy box of cuppies and fillings that they could pick up take home and eat/discuss when they like and get back to me if they like. No pressure on either side.
Well, now I actually have to do one. Here's my plan, please tell me if there's something more (or less!) I can do. I want the box to have everything they need included so that they can take it wherever (like a romantic picnic) and not have to supply anything.
In the box there will be:
6 large cuppies (2 of each flavor) should I put a little flower on top or something?
2 fillings (how to do these? Un cut disposable pastry bags rubber banded at the top? not very elegant, but it works. )
a bit of extra bc (again disposable pastry bags?)
2 forks/napkins/plates (all disposable, but nice)
whaddya think? Any ideas or improvements for me?
Thanks guys!

What I do, is I prefill and frost each cuppies. Write on a little piece of paper (flavor, filling and kind of frosting) attach the paper on a toothpick with a little tape, insert in the cupcake.
I love the idea of the disposables forks and plates/napkin to go with that. I never thought of that!

You know, now that I think of it, I never had a cake tasting for my wedding. Only the food.

I used to have a lady across the street from me that baked like crazy. My mother said too bad I wasn't decorating when she was there because we would have made a good team. What she would do was go to garage sales & buy plates to put her cakes on & then not have to worry when she gave away a cake to the church or someone. You probably won't have time but maybe you will come across a garage sale with nice forks and plates & buy them to keep handy.

How about making small cakes for them to get a better idea because cakes & cupcakes can taste different (texture). I would definitely fill the cupcakes & decorate them cute to give them an idea of your talents. If you're making 1 or 2 cake flavors, make little 4 or 5" cakes. Or ask them what they had in mind & make those & then maybe do your most popular or specialty cake. Don't they have a pan that would make 3 or 4 separate batters like the checkerboard type cake? If they don't, why haven't we invented it? If anyone knows how I can get pans made, let me know because I have quite a few in mind. I'll put that one on my list. I emailed Greg or Glenn was it from Fat Daddios here & he never replied. If I could find a pan manufacturer, I'd be in heaven and so would you....

If I were doing a "to go" taste testing, I'd use the disposable plastic containers and put icing and filling in each one. They make some really small ones that would work nice and in cute little colors!

I always to mini load size samples and just ice smooth with a pretty border...no flowers or decorations other than just a swirl of icing on the top.

The reason I don't want to fill the cuppies is so that they can mix and match to see what they like the best. With 3 cake flavors and 3 filling flavors there are more combinations than I want to make. Although I do like the idea of a pretty little "labeling" flag!
Thanks for all the great ideas! I'll definitely give the garage sales a try! I'll also look for some mini-containers for the fillings. I'm thinking that I'll frost the cuppies in a swirl with a large star tip and maybe add a little fondant flower on top...just for fun. Now that I think of it...maybe I'll add a butter knife with the fork roll them up in a napkin and tie with a pretty ribbon. I have lots of extra ribbon laying around!!
Thanks!! Keep 'em coming!!

How about those little containers you can purchase that are called souffle cups and lids. I think those would be great to put your fillings which you can purchase in different sizes. I have ordered them before from this site

These would be easy to find in walmart or your grocery store. And they come in 1/2 cup sizes.

I like the ideas of putting the frosting/fillings in the souffle cups - When we wenyt cake tasting for my brother's wedding - one shop did that - plain cupcake with cups of mix & match fillings/frostings. If you want to "show off your stuff" - maybe include one cupcake filled / frosted / and decorated - not only will it show off your talents but it will make the couple feel special.
