Need Ideas Please!

I used to go to a ton of work for cake tastings too but now... I bake the cuppies using the filling for the frosting. Most of my fillings are buttercream based so it is really easy to do that. The sample boxes that I have posted in my album are what they get. I bake the minis and do 4 or so of each flavor (ie: white cake with orange frosting then maybe chocolate cake with orange frosting) I tell them to pick 4 cake flavors and 4 filling flavors then I put them together. So if they ask for the white cake with raspberry filling... I will also put the raspberry on say chocolate, french vanilla, almond poppyseed too. They end up with a large variety. Doing the minis, I am able to provide them with more flavors and I try to lump my brides together and do 3 or 4 sample boxes at a time. I always give the other brides samples of what someone else has ordered too so they get more to choose from. If they want samples when I am not baking for other brides, their choices are a bit more limited. The main flavors that they choose I do full size cupcakes for them so they get a dozen or so full size ones then a bunch of minis. They usually want to share them with family members so there is always enough for both bride and groom's families. It is a little work for me and does cost a bit but I figure that into the cost of their cake. Your idea of making it special for them is really nice and it would be a nice touch but it is a lot of extra work for you and if you get it started... it's hard to go backwards! My brides are always soooo excited when they get their box of cuppies to try and they almost always say they had so many they took them to work to share with their co-workers... which is more advertisement for me!!! I don't always decorate mine. Simple is better sometimes. If I happen to have extra flowers or hearts from another project I do include them sometimes. They are looking at taste and not decorations at that point so taste is what I give them. I did give a couple naked cupcakes and provided them with several containers of fillings and frosting and let them decide but they didn't eat them right away and the cuppies dried out and they said it was too much work for them. They said it would have been easier to have them put together for them. I knew them really well and told them they were my guniea pigs... needless to say, I baked them some good ones and they were thrilled!

Thanks for all the good suggestions! I think next time I will do the minis. And you're right, Jeri nice for them means more work for me. For this one, I'm kinda stuck to what I promised.
My weddings are few and far between, and actually I've kinda decided to keep it that way for a while. Brides are crazy!!! And their mothers...Ughhh!!! Anyway, this one happened to be referred to me my DH's boss. I didn't really think I should say no.
I have to go shopping and buy everything for this (and bake!) today, so we'll see what I come up with! heheheheh....

I also this the souffle cup are a great Idea ..if you have a Sam's Club near you that is a perfect place to get the cups,and the the sell the little packages with the fork,knife,spoon and nakin (picnic pack).
