Re: Help me choose a stand mixer!!
Im liking the warranty on the Cuisinart one. And it's bigger with a more powerful motor. Got better reviews on Amazon. I havent used either... Im just wondering what to do!! Ive always said I wanted an Artisan, but I hadnt heard of any others. My husband just called me from the store; they're going out of business (LNT) and when he saw that, he went in to look at mixers for me. How sweet is that?!

Re: Help me choose a stand mixer!!
how cool! Is the warranty through the co. it's made by then since the store is going out of business?
The kitchen aid co. is good about replacing items and such too. But deff check warranties and attachment issues too if these are of use to you.
But in the end it's what YOU want and what YOU deem as the best choice for you.

Re: Help me choose a stand mixer!!
I just called Cuisinart because the paddle and dough hook attachments on the one in the store were a little scratched up. They said it's covered under a 3-year warranty; and the motor has a 5-year. So I just send them the scratched up ones and they'll replace all 3 attachments for free. ....Plus, everything is 50%-70% off. So my husband's able to get it for $175!! I told him to go for it. They didn't have any Kitchen Aid ones, so Cuisinart it is!! I'm so excited!! I've wanted a mixer for a couple years now!! He asked if I wanted to wait for a Kitchen Aid, but at twice that price, I can't justify waiting just because they come in neat colors. This one is silver metalic.

Re: Help me choose a stand mixer!!
Oh geez nevermind... they didnt have a box, and it was all as-is. I called Cuisinart back to be sure that having the serial number was enough to get replacement parts, but they said you have to have the original box!! She said not to buy it from anywhere if you needed a warranty for it. So I told Dan just not to get it, that I'll wait til I can get one with a warranty. He said he felt bad bc that was such a tease!! Oh well. One day!! Perhaps Christmas!! It was a sweet thought/try!

Re: Help me choose a stand mixer!!
I bought a brand new Kitchen Aid Accolade from the Kitchen Aid store on eBay (or you can purchase from shopka.com). It has a tilt-head, commercial grade all-steel transmission, and 400 watt motor for about $200.00. KA discontinued the line only because the motor is loud; otherwise the Accolade has good reviews and is a definite upgrade from the Artisan. You could contact KA to see if they still have new Accolades. I'm really happy with mine. Anyway, just one more mixer to think about.

Yeah, I'd have been ticked!!! I wouldn't want to spend another $100 on those three attachments for it!! Maybe if they were selling it for 50 bucks or something hehe. But I dont have 175 extra just to blow on a mixer that doesnt have a warranty that's been sitting in a store for 2 years! My luck it would have broken a week into using it and I'd have been out of luck!
