Default How hot can it get?

I only thought I was hot in Florida last week, but I came home to 100+ temps and am just about to burn up! We haven't been under 100 since the day I left and aren't expected to do it for another 3 days!!

Today it got to 107! Yikes! There will be no cake baking here for sure. I can't imagine trying to transport and deliver in these temperatures.

We are having such mild temps here in Oregon this summer! I have been loving it for baking and home projects! We have been very fortunate. Today it is 81 and a nice mild breeze blowing. I have all the windows open and the house smells so fresh... love it! However... this week I have a wedding cake to do and It is supposed to be 97 on Tuesday... when I need to start baking, 96 on Wed... when I need to finish baking and 92 on Thursday when I need to fill and frost... Friday when I have all the fondant work to do it is supposed to drop back down to 89 and Saturday is 87 so it should be nice those two days. I don't know if we are ever going to have super hot weather this summer! It's ok with me. My yard and gardens love this weather!

I just talked to my sister in Texas, and she said it was 107 there. That was after I was complaining about getting hot and sweaty doing yardwork at 79 degrees. I sure don't miss that kind of heat - I'm staying in Washington!

I never thought it got so hot in OK. Are those temps normal? Here with the humidity, it feels like a 100 sometimes & I listen to the weather & they're saying it's only in the 80s. If it hits 107 and my AC isn't working, I'm just going to stick my head in the oven!

Hmmm, another spin on the fried egg experiment, I wonder if you put a cake under a big stock pot & left it outside a few hours, would it bake? I wouldn't trust it enough to eat it but I just thought about that.

I'm betting 107 is a record for Oklahoma - my sister said it did set a new record in Dallas - previously 105 for this date.

The nice thing about here is there is NO humidity! 80 is actually pretty cool... it can be 100 and is bearable... We don't have AC because it cools down to 40 or 50 at night and we can leave our windows open all night and it will be 60 in the house in the morning. I get up around 5 or 6 and close the house up and as long as the house stays closed up it will hang around 70 to 75 in here all day. I always bake in the evening so that is not much of an issue. I love our weather here! Once in awhile it gets super hot and does not cool down at night... then it is not too comfortable. Normally it does get hot here but this summer it has been so nice! No complaints from here... I feel for you in heat and humidity... that sucks. It drains your energy so fast.

It wasn't a record, but close. The record was 108. The weather has just been really weird this spring and summer. First floods and cold temps, now near record temps and so dry the grass is brown.

Hot as it is, no summer has ever beaten the year I had my girls.

I was in the hospital for a month before they were born and 2 weeks after they were born. It hit 100 or higher every day I was in the hospital and never rained a drop. The hospital was sending babies home in t-shirts that said " I survived the 1980 Oklahoma heat wave". I still have theirs!

Our oldest daughter was born in 1980! She was a month old when Mt. St. Helens blew and we had all the ash everywhere in the Northwest! Must have been a crazy year... I don't remember! She was born in April and I remember we were on the 5th floor of the hospital and we looked outthe window and could not see the ground it was snowing so hard that day.
