Big Earthquake today..........

Not HUGE - but it was a 5.4 - and we were about 20 miles away from the epicenter--....knocked things off shelves - a couple broken jars in the pantry....but the scary thing was that the kids were in day care (25 miles away) and the phones were down - took me FOREVER to get ahold of the daycare provider! Thankfully - all was OK! We have not had a big quake here since 1994 (Northridge) - so ya tend to forget that you live in earthquake country!

Glad to hear everything is OK. We have a friend in San Diego and on the news they were saying it was an effected area as well but when we phoned him this evening, he had no idea it even happened. I guess it's too far from epicenter.

So so glad you guys are ok and not much damaged done. I prayed as soon as I heard about it, those things scare me.
It's the idea you cant control it and you cant see it, it's just there and we relize we're really under mother nature's thumb if she so desires.

I'm in San Diego, and I definitely felt it. It wasn't very strong, and it only lasted a second or two. I'm so used to them, they don't really faze me much. I do worry about a big one happening when I'm not with my kids though. That would be my big fear.
