I'll start by saying he's getting tons better already, but he still could use some prayers!!

On Friday my youngest woke up with a fever of 101, and wasnt wanting to eat anything or swallow anything to the point that he was just walking around drooling and crying. He had been absolutely FINE on Thursday night, so I took him to the pediatrician and they said it looked like he has a version of hand-foot-mouth virus, even though he doesnt have any blisters on his hands and feet, just in his mouth and throat. They said it definately came from some other kids his age, bc in the past week they'd seen upwards of 25 kids who had it or some form of it-- the only place he'd been around any other kids this past week was at the church nursery. So I guess he picked it up there; they said the incubation period was 4-5 days, so it fits. We called and told them they need to clean their toys, so that no one else gets sick, and so that if he did indeed get it from there, no one else would bc we dont want any other little ones to be so sick!
It's been a couple LONG days and nights. He is finally able to drink a little bit. He had a cup of pedialyte yesterday, and some apple juice today. And he ate a few buttered noodles last night. And bless his heart, he wanted some cake so bad-- he kept saying "Cuh-keek!" (that's cupcake, for those unable to interpret 2-year-old LOL)....I gave him one and he cried after every bite but that little man ate that cupcake and loved it. We had made them on Thursday night before he got sick. Our pediatrician said it didnt matter if he just wanted vanilla pudding and koolaid, that if he can get it down, to let him have it! I spent all day yesterday cleaning the house really well; I cant even tell you how many legos and cars I washed..So that's been the gist of my weekend. My husband has actually been taking the night shift so that I could sleep. The little one was waking up everytime he'd swallow and he'd cry so bad, but last night he was just at the point that he wasnt feeling well and wanting to be held.
My husband is SO good with him--he can always get him to take at least a few bites and make him laugh even when he's feeling so bad. This is the one that loves to eat at least 3 breakfasts everyday!! So for him to go from eating all the time, to hardly at all, it's really tough for him; esp because he's still hungry, he just cant get it down without pain. Since its a virus, there's no medicine for it, but they've had us alternating Tylenol and Motrin for him to try and manage the pain. The doctor said that yesterday was probably going to be the worst day, and that he'd start to get better after that, so prayerfully that's correct and he'll start to get better fast!! I think once he can actually sit down and eat a meal without it hurting him that he'll feel so much more like himself!!
