I will be away for a few days....

I have to turn my computer off here in a few minutes and pack it up. We will be painting tomorrow in my office/dining room and the computer has to be put away (or my hubby will have paint all over it!)

So I will be out and having computer withdrawl symptoms! Oh well... it will look great when I am done right? I hope so!

My hubby wants to put his deer and antelope heads back up above my desk where they have always been. I really would like to see them gone but I have a ton of fun with them at Christmas. They get red bowties and santa hats! I am trying to find another place to have the deer and antelope roam! I don't want them in the living room... don't want to put them in a guest bedroom I wouldn't want to wake up to animals in the room I am sleeping! so I have to find an alternative! The garage... he'd never go for that! Looks like the office... maybe on the opposite wall so I don't have them hanigng out over my head all the time!

Just couldnt' stay away from the computer!!! I actually am supposed to be searching for my wood flooring... we are going to buy it tomorrow. I already know what I want... just thought I might find a bargin somewhere... no luck.

Got the painting finished today... furniture is EVERYWHERE.... we can't put the room back together before Wednesday because that is the day we are layng the floors. Then I have to put a new finish on all the wood work... and hopefully be done! I am going to try a new arrangement to see if I like it better than what we have now... we'll see. This room is 12x22 so it is long and narrow. It functions as the dining room, office and I have my eliptical in here too... needless to say... pretty full. The deer and antelope will still be in here... can't find a new home for them and they are my hubby's pride and joy. I will have my new accessories next week sometime so when everything is ALL done... I will take pics and post them. It is a lot of work! In emptying out my hutch and another cabinet that I have I have come to the conclusion that I have WAY too many cookbooks. I counted 93... Maybe time to let a few of them go! I don't use half of them... but they are great cookbooks! And I love cookbooks! Between garden books, inspirational books, cookbooks & cake books... I could start a small library!

I will post pix when all is done. Have a cake next week so back to work!

We ended up getting the flooring at Costco. The guy at Lowes was a Mr. Know it All (who didn't know up from down!) My floor is Vintage Chestnut. We are going with the laminate because it is a high traffic area and it holds up well to traffic. It is kind of a dark wood and I am a little nervous about that since it is pretty dusty here and I will be constantly dusting it but as long as the carpet is gone... I will be happy as a clam!!! I was going to get the handscraped hickory at Lowes but that guy really ticked me off and the vintage chestnut is just a tad darker and the planks are wider. It will look like an old farmhouse floor! Just what this country bumpkin needs! This will be stress week... but hopefully by Friday I will have everything put back together because our kiddos are coming to visit for the weekend!

My nephew is finishing up our floors this morning. It is taking a little longer than we had planned. I am supposed to be putting the room back together this morning! Now I am off schedule... Oh well. There was a bad spot on one of the boards and he didn't catch it when he was putting it in yesterday so he had to take half the floor out this morning and re-do it. We are using the laminate wood floors...easier to take care of and my kids have them and they are so duarble! I am to a point where I can not do anything right now so I snuck my laptop out and decided to get on here!

3 of our 4 kids with their better halfs are coming home this weekend so I really want to get everything put back away. I still don't have pictures back on the walls after painting or anything. Everything is a MESS! I have today to finish it all. The kids will be here tomorrow morning! Pray for me! I will be going like crazy this afternoon to finish everything up! Will post pics as soon as I get things together!
