Alvin and the chipmunks!

WE have three squirrels that come visit us. We have a big box of peanuts in the garage (for them) and they found it. So they relay theselves to pick them up. My dd calls them Alvin and the chipmunks.

here's a picture of one of them, his tail is cut off so probably he got caught by another animal or something...

Awww....! They're so cute. I love the way they hold their food.
Too bad they can do so much damage...well, in my yard anyway...

We don't have big squirrels here, they're small, and they don't do big damages except stealing my strawberries in my garden!

You're lucky! They steal my veggies, wreck my flowers, and they've ripped to shreds every patio furniture cushion I've ever had! At one point I had to go to a plastic clothes line because they chewed through my rope one and took parts of it back to their nest (which was our birdhouse that they took over).
One time my DH yelled to me to come outside. I did and he's standing not 2 feet from them watching them chew a hole through the lid of our garbage can! They didn't even flinch! They just kept gnawing away while we were standing there talking. They didn't leave until we physically shooed them away. Irritating little rodents!

You probably have big grey squirrels... My aunt has problems with them too. Here in the north we only have small brown "civalised" squirrels . two of them were "chatting" in the garage yesterday, each with a peanut in their hands. They were "talking" really loud. Last week at 6:30am I woke up to my big dog barking like a lunatic in the yard... went to see what was happening, one of the squirrel was dancing on the fence and was annoying my dog, like if it would say: you can't get me, nanana! that was really funny! After that my dog was exhausted and slept until noon!

You are very fortunate if they do not become a problem. The damage some of these can do is amazing.

our 3 dogs..well they keep our squirrels in order. They live in these massive dead trees and have turned them into a squirrel condo community.
But we have hawks, birds galore and ground hogs and chipmunks every where too. My biggest dog always gets out to chase our bunny families around too.
It's like a small animal preserve here sometimes.

A few years back I had a box of food items delivered while I was at work and by the time I got home they had gotten into the box and ate most of the food. They have chewed the top of my garbage can. But every winter I buy nuts on sale and feed them. My neighbor puts out food for bird each day and you would be amazed at all the wild animals that come to feed and I love watching them. I have a large garden so I don't mind sharing with them as long as they leave some for us. I have a soft heart when it comes to any type of animal. I am afraid of bees and will leave the yard if I see any. I am just in awe of all the creatures that GOD created. When I get to heaven I want the job of taking care of the animals and baking. Won't it be wonderful to roam with all the wild animals?
