My NYC Trip
We are back from our weekend in NYC, and it was SO MUCH FUN!! We loved parts of it--our favorite part of the city was SoHo and we spent most of our time there!! Our favorite restaurant by far was LUPA (It's a rustic Italian place co-owned by Mario Batalli), and our hotel was phenomenal. We got a suite at The London NYC, and it was so gorgeous, and close to everything--7 blocks from Times Square, and 7 blocks from Central Park!! The city was so busy it was a bit overwhelming at first, but we caught on pretty quickly. Our very favorite thing we did was go to Top of the Rock Observation Deck on the 72nd floor of Rockefeller Center at like 11 PM---man, it's breathtaking up there!!! We both enjoyed Central Park, and I can see why they need that peaceful place there--it's way too busy across the street!! OH and we ate lunch at Aquagrill and I found a pearl in my oyster!!!
It was pretty funny, because all I took was cute little sandals and heels and for some reason thought that would be fine for all the walking we would be doing--we ended up shopping in SoHo for sneakers because my feet were hurting so badly!! I love my new Puma's though!!! We also visited the Egyptian and Greek/Roman galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was awe inspiring! We figured it up, and we walked well over 10 miles! Yikes!! Here's some pictures, as promised!! I'll have to do it in a couple posts, bc theres a 5 picture limit!!

Welcome back! You had a great time! I'm so jealous. I've never been to the USA and NYC is one place I want to visit before I die. It's on my "list", that and meeting Duff Goldman!

Re: My NYC Trip
I loved this part of Central Park-- the one picture looked like something straight from a Harry Potter movie!! The other was just really peaceful! Then there are a couple pictures from Top of the Rock--we could have stayed up there all night! There's an unobstructed view of the whole city all the way around. We got pictures of the statue of liberty, the bridges, the Empire state building, and all the rest, but for sake of not posting 80 pictures, I'll stop here!! haha

welcome back LadyDZA
You guys look so adorable together!!!
I've been asking my hubby to go to NY for couple years now, (just don't like the hot and humid part of it, but otherwise would totally enjoy the city). Now my co-worker spent a whole week there and brought tons of pics back and it made me want to go even more. And now seeing these pics....i'm booking my flight

Thanks!! It was kinda a 2nd honeymoon for us!! If you plan on being outside walking anywhere, dont go in July!! We must have gone back and changed clothes 3 times a day!! No kidding! The news said the heat index was above 100 every day we were there!

Re: My NYC Trip
Welcome back! I'm happy you had a great time! I can't believe you didn't bring sneakers!!! Did you take a picture by that beautiful bridge in the park? I think I've been in the park once & it was brief. I was thinking about going into the city for a few nights for my 50th birthday but we decided on a party instead. I had said I always wanted to go and just walk all over the place. Your room looked great!
Do how did the kids manage without you?

Re: My NYC Trip
The boys had the BEST time with Nonna and Pops!! They loved being there with them--we called them once in the morning and once right before bed, and both times they'd ask us about our day and tell us about theirs! They kept them super busy playing outside and doing crafts and stuff, and they loved it!! In fact, my 2 year old cried when Pops said "bye bye" and my 4 year old cried and said "But I want to go back to the weekend with them!" HAHA. They were more fine with us being away from them than we were!!! It helps that we'd completely hyped it for weeks beforehand though I think! When we were dropping them off Thursday night my 2 year old said "Otay, bye guys!!" And my 4 year old said "Have a great time at the city! Dont get tangled up!!" HAHA not sure what that meant but good advice all the same!!
We did go across one bridge that Ive seen in a lot of movies, but we didnt stop to take a picture because they were filming a movie there, and were able to go across bc the director was giving the actors instructions on what to do when they went back on it. It was really neat to see! I didnt know who they were, but the actress had a French accent.

Re: My NYC Trip
So glad your trip went so well. What you never realize is how much it means to your parents to have the kids for the weekend too! When my mom was alive she loved taking the kids for the night or for a day of fun. The kids remember those times and cherish them. Sounds like it was good for everyone all the way around!
