Just wanted to jump in and wish everyone a happy 2 weeks of baking! As for me, I'm off to DisneyWorld in the morning..yea!!!

I'll miss all the bakers, but at least I'm getting to go!

My friend has been calling me from ICES convention. She said the stuff is awesome and she has been going for years. I have to head over to the ICES website to see what vendors are there. Already gave her a few items to pick up. She said Fondarific was there but their sample pack was a pound or two each and she didn't want to lug it around and home and they didn't have the flavor she wanted. She found some beautiful cutters from Manila I think or somewhere around that part of the world. She was asking if I wanted a set for hibiscus which is my favorite flower. Pretty hefty price & I don't even make gumpaste flowers with the cutters I have!! She is debating about by the whole set. I might "rent" them from her if she does. Might as well offer her something since it's cheaper for me, less cake decorating stuff & she gets a little back.

Cakebaker, do you need a loan to pay the mortgage/rent this month? I know you're coming back broke but happy!

Cakebaker, too bad you missed us! It would've been cool to see you. I just got back home about 2 hours ago from Disney/ICES convention and I said words I never say "I am caked out!" Yet, here I am. LOL

It was utterly awesome and I have so much to tell....after I take a long nap. I got very little sleep the last 5-6 days and my brain is cake mush. I don't feel like unpacking all the stuff I got, I need to do something about storage and space first.

If you can, plan NOW to go to the one in the Chicago area (St.Charles) next year. They will be doing a tour of Wilton and their pastry school and 3 chicago area bakeries. It sounds like it's going to be a good time.

I wonder which local bakeries??? I used to work a bakery in Chicago, but that's been 10 years ago. I should go back and say Hi!

woo-hoo!!! Hubby wants to go to chicago same days so we are planning on booking our rooms and such next month!!!!!

Yay! Registration for next year will begin March 1, I believe. The resort they have booked the Pheasant Run Resort - said to be fantastic. There's a dinner/comedy show night and the tours will be the Tuesday and Wednesday before convention starts. They did not say which bakeries they were but I'm sure that will be announced later. I want to do the spa! lol
