Default feeling a little dumb!

There was a 4.2 earthquake 50 miles from here today and they said it could be felt here but I didn't notice anything. I was pretty busy all day. My computer did flicker around that time so it might have had something to do with it.... I miss all the good stuff!

That's okay Jeri, five years ago when my husband and I were just married, I was laying on our couch and told my husband that it felt like the couch was shaking, to come over there. He was kicked back in his recliner and didnt fell like getting up and said I was imagining things. Well, not 5 minutes after, the news broke in on tv saying we'd just had an earthquake!! He still laughs about it to this day that the one time he didn't come over to me when I asked him to, he "missed the earthquake."

It was a little one, didn't hurt anything. So it was neat.

The one here today is really in a remote area the town where the epicenter was is only about 300 people. They say the Northwest is just rumbling under the earth and we can expect more... oh well... something we can't control and it is what it is!

we've had them lately in the middle of the night when we do. So not many people know about them until after.
Well my dad says only the winos and pole dancers would notice a earthquake at 3am!
Well I certainly knew about when working 3rd shift at our local hosp. ER.

Here, we are in an area that's not know for eathrquakes (maybe one every century or so...) So in the 80s when I was still living at my parents, I was crafting in my room, when it began to shake. At first I thought a big truck was passing by, but when my glue bottle fell off my dresser, I got up and went into the kitchen. My parents had company over and my mom was getting mad because she thought someone was shaking their leg under the table (and she absolutely hates that).... We were all looking at each other with puzzled faces My dad had the idea to open the tv and guess what? it was an earthquake! it was around 300 miles away from my house, so we only shook a little. There was a lot of damages in the earthquake area though!

I'm so glad that I don't live near an earthquake area! I would go crazy I still remember the feeling, for a few years after that incident, when I felt some shaking from a truck passing by, I immediately was thinking: earthquake! Now it's ok....

I think no matter where we live everyone has some kinds of natural disasters hit at one time or another. Where we are seems we get the side effects maybe a tremor or something but I don't know if it would ever really hit here... guess no one does! We do live right to the east of the Cascade Mountains most of them are about an hour to an hour an a half away so I guess if any of them ever decide to blow... we will get some of the effects from that. We got ash here when St. Helens blew back in 1980 and it is about 4 hours away from us. Guess it's all a crap shoot! Tornadoes... Hurricanes, Floods, Drought, we all get something some time! All a part of the cycle of life!
