Question how often do you forget to take a picture?

I wonder how often do you forget to take a picture of your cakes? Me, it happens quite frequently these days, like today, I made a race car track for a 5 y-o boy, I was really proud of the result, but I've realised only a few hours later that I've forgot to take a picture.....

Well, fortunately (or unfortunately!) for me my DH is really into photography right now. I have more pictures of cakes on my computer than I do of my kids. He takes like, 20 shots of each cake from every angle, with flash, without flash, bounce flash, from above, at eye level, left side, right side, standing on a chair....the list goes on and on... It drives me crazy. We've been known to "discuss" this aspect of his photography hobby now and then.

You might be able to get a picture from the parents of the boy.

Lucky you! Well don't let him look at mine! The lighting is terrible in the "cake" room & I always have junk on my counter & don't empty it. My kitchen table always has a busy tablecloth so the cakes don't match it. I bought one of those thick boards to use as a background but the color didn't work. Next time I see some plain big scarves, I'm going to buy some. My friend puts a piece of material on her fridge door, closing the door on it to keep it up & leaves some on the floor & then puts the cake on the floor on top of the material to get a professional look but she doesn't have pets!! I would NEVER!!!!! (cats)

When I take pictures, now, I use a plain table-clothe, on my stove. And I light the stove light. it helps. I'd like to have a place in my cake room to showcase my cake and take pretty pictures. Maybe when We redo that room in two weeks I can work it out. Like I wouldn't even forget about taking a picture

I frequently forget to take. I procrastinate so much that I am always working under pressure and dashing out the door. Sad...really.

My cakes are mostly wedding cakes so when I pack my kit to take with me, my camera is on my check list of things to pack. I do have a nice white table cloth that I use to stage cakes to take photos. It only takes a minute to throw it over the top of whatever is in the way and shoot some pictures. I love pictures though so it is easy for me to remember!

I'm always working on it last minute too because I can never really decide ahead what I'm going to do. I swore I was making my one niece a stack of books but then I was afraid that it wouldn't look as impressive as a tiered cake like I made for the other niece last week. Sometime during the week I decided on another 3 tier.

Why don't you get a disposable camera and keep it in your car just for that and other Kodak moments. I do. I was sitting at a light by a cemetary last year & there was a big sign for condos for sale & then a sign "Move in Today! I can't find the pic to post it but basically the signs were left to right...

Green Lawn Cemetary - Move in Today (with an arrow to the left) & then condos for sale. I thought it was so amusing.

That would have been a great one to send to Jay Leno! At our cemetary here in town, there are signs posted... "NO Hunting in Cemetary" ... we always get a laugh out of it. There is a herd of deer that makes our cemetary their home... they know they are safe... lots of green grass & a quiet place to sleep! A few years ago there was a new family to town and it was hunting season and this guy... maybe not the brightest crayon in the box... went hunting in the cemetary and shot a deer!!! That is when they posted the no hunting signs! I have a small digital camera it's a Nikon and I love it because it fits in my purse nicely and I almost always have it with me. I'm a picture nut!
