Default Anyone have an Agbay?

Alright, I'm biting the bullet. I've hacked up my last cake, and I've decided that I'm going to fork out the $ and buy myself an Agbay leveler for my birthday. Woo Hoo! Does anyone have one and can give me advice? Do I need to spend the extra $100 (ouch!) for the double blade? I rarely torte cakes, usually I just level them...but I'm by no means a professional. Down the road, would I regret not buying the deluxe model from the start? What about the blade cleaner....necessity or rip off?
I'd appreciate any suggestions or tips.
Thanks guys!!

I have the double blade Agbay. I don't know whether you absolutely have to have the double blade one. I like mine thus far and I've been torting more cakes now then I was before.

I have the Agbay double blade and I love it!! I don't have the blade cleaner, but it's very easy to clean without it. Having both blades has come in handy for my double torted cakes. If I don't need both blades, there's enough adjustment room to move the top blade all the way up and just use the bottom blade. HTH...

I would love to have one, but cannot justify the cost. So far I have had really great results with my wilton leveler or just using a long serrated knife.

I don't have one. I use a wilton one. I cannot justify the costs as I seldom do large cakes. Maybe one day when I turn pro. The wilton leveler will just have to do for now.

I can only justify it because it isn't really my money. I'm combining the money I get from my parents and my mil (and just a little of my own if I go for the double blader....) for my birthday to pull this off. My mom's rule for b-day money is that is has to go toward something you would normally never splurge on with your own cash. I think this definitely falls into that category.
Thanks for the blade cleaner advice Rezzycakes. You made my decision for me!
Puzzlegut, maybe I'd torte more if I had the double?
Anyone else? Double or single?

Talking Re: Anyone have an Agbay?

Too funny I just pointed out the exact same thing for my birthday which is next month. I don't know if hubby would go for the double.

It's on my wish list for sure! Double blade with a cleaner and a Styrofoam cutter blade as well........
