I just watched the show and noticed at the end of the show, it had a memorial with the winner, Susan O’Boyle-Jacobson's, name. I tried to do a search and then did it another way & see that ICES has a memorial scholarship in her name. It was sort of sad. She looked like a sweet lady & didn't look too old.

Oh, that is very sad. I googled her name and read that two days after winning the competition, she had a massive heart attack and died, at the young age of 56, and with no prior history of heart problems. How tragic! :(

I did find something from CO ICES

April 20, 2006 Susan O'boyle-Jacobson passed away from a massive heart attack in her Minnesota home just two days after winning the Candy Castles Food Network Challenge.

That's so sad. She was so happy that her daughter & grandchildren could watch her compete. Sorry if I'm spoiling the show for someone.

Wow! That's young. I was posting something as you were posting. I am not familiar with her, I guess because I was just getting into cake decorating when she died. She was an accomplished decorator. So sad...

I saw it again last night as I had forgotten I saw it last year right after she passed.
It was so sad, kerry Vincent even spoke at her funeral!

I saw that she passed away too. Really sad to have won the challenge and die 2 days later.
