Exclamation sugar roses....

I made this cake for my daughter, turning 15 today, she wanted a gothic coffin cake with black roses. So I made it with black sugar roses and scattered petals...
does it look ok? I keep feeling like I am missing something for it but she wants no words on it or around it...I just dunno...should I walk away?

2nd time...difficult to learn for me... but mostly because of the thought that working with hot sugar is very, very dangerous.

Did you get burned at all? I am so afraid to work with sugar that hot, I always wanted to try doing sugar bubbles, but haven't gotten the courage to yet.

OMG 2sdae! I thought they were just regular fondant roses! You go, girl! How about a skull and cross bones in the heart? But honestly, I think it looks great as it is!

This is gross, but true!

I was at my daughter's today and she had found a recipe on the internet for making your own sugar wax formula..you know, to remove hair.

So I'm helping her scoop this sticky, hot gooey mess onto non-stick paper and I started playing with it..before you know it, I was making pulled sugar flower petals!! My daughter said, "MOTHER!!!..What ARE you doing? Is there nothing you can't turn into cake decorations???

Hey, it was new, it wasn't like it had been used, and it was really pretty fun to work with!!

Sugar wax...who knew?????
