Default Hard candy molds

Usually I just pour my candy in a baking sheet and crack it into pieces. The other day, I needed some clear pink hearts for a cake, and tried to use my candy molds- well, they melted when I poured in the syrup. I stopped in the cake shop Saturday, and the clerk said the molds should have worked? Any suggestions? I also have an order for some lolli-pops, so I need to know what to use so I don't ruin all of my molds.

you have to get the ones that are safe for hard candy. The chocolate molds are not and they will melt. Just be sure when you purchase them that they say for hard candy. Remember that there are molds for chocolate suckers too... don't be fooled by them just because they are for suckers!
