I saw another one that was good on Cake Central. It was maybe camoflague(?), 2 tiers & on the top tier was sort of a gingerbread type cookie with the arms up, candles all around the top of the bottom tier & it said "SO & SO, GIVE UP, YOU'RE SURROUNDED" I thought that was pretty funny & was planning it for my BIL except his 50th party was the week before Super Bowl & it was a Giants theme. I made him a jacket & football cakes & wrote "Kevin's Giant Birthday".

This is cute in my head, but hard to explain, so bear with me!! Make two cakes.... One round one that is decorated to look like a tree stump with rings. One that will be laying on its side, made to look like the top of the tree that's been cut down. Then on the "Grass" around the stump, make a trail of "termites" or something like that say "40 isn't old...if you're a TREE!"

I dunno, it was funny in my head! It's late.

...I made a drawing. It's awful. It would look a LOT cuter if I made it into a cake!! HAHA

You should see my cake "designs" if you can call them that. It looks like my kindergartner sketched my ideas for me....but sadly....he didn't!

I was looking at Cake Central (I don't go there NEARLY as much as I go here!) I didn't realize they had a 40th birthday site!) However, I have decided to go trhe "high road" - although my sis REALLY does not have any hobbies/interests (hard to fathom - eh?) she is OBSESSED with getting older (has DRAWERS full of expensive wrinkle cream, etc.) I think a "joke" cake would REALLY depress her ( I know - tormenting a lil sis....how TEMPTING!) But I am going to make her a "classy" designed fresh strawberry cake instead...besides, she & mom really aren't "fondant" people!
