Lightbulb How do I create a recipe?

I have several base recipes for cupcakes, but I would like to create my own using different fruits and/or other ingredients. How do I know which base recipe to use. How can I figure this out?

Thank you

I would just experiment... You never know until you try.. I'd take each fruit/flavor combo and try it with each base.. Maybe make only 1/4 to 1/2 of your base recipe and put your combo in that... that way you're not wasting that many ingredients in case they don't taste like you'd like... Just experiment and have fun with it.

Great luck.

Just through trial and error til you get them the way you want. I have been trying this same thing. Good luck with your recipes.

Talking Re: How do I create a recipe?

I bought the Alton Brown book "I'M JUST HERE FOR MORE FOOD" food x mixing x heat=baking.
This explains all the mechanics of what each ingredient and what they do or do not do.
It has been extremely helpful to me.
If you know the basics behind why you use eggs or baking powder instead of baking soda you can learn to build your own recipes from scratch and then it's only your imagination that holds you!
