Can you say overhaul?

Well I promised we were working on getting these message boards into shape.

You will notice a new look, this is not only the surface, we completely redid the whole package and have migrated everyones accounts over.

Most things came over with no problems, but you may need to work on updating small things like your timezone and avatars.

Also, we have disabled the online chat for the very short-term, we should have that back on with just as a big refinement in the next couple of days.

There are several things here that we think all of you will just absolutely LOVE!

One
We now have a "Calendar" that those of you who have cake shows or events coming up can post those events for the public to see

Two
There are many new options for viewing the forums, sorting by thread, newest first, last first, etc... Go to your user profile, we think you will be amazed at all the new options you have for your account.

Three
You can now upload images inline in your messages! No longer do you have to have your pictures hosted somewhere else.

Four
We think one of the best new features we have added to the site, is we are giving every user of the message boards their own BLOG!!! This is a place where you can post your pictures, adventures, etc... and share those events with friends and family. Click on the "FAQ" area to read more about it, or just click on "User BLOG's" to check it out and experiment with your own blog!

Five
Searching is much improved along with the ability to quickly see ALL new posts across all forums by just clicking "New Posts" on the left.

Six
Many new and fun icons to spruce up your messages with.

These are just a few of the many many new features we have added and we are not done yet!

As mentioned before, a completely overhauled Live Chat rooms will be coming online in the next couple of days. Also, we will be adding image galleries in the next month or two for those of who you may not be interested in starting your own blog but want to host pictures.

Once again, we want to thank all of you who made our Black Friday sale such a success and for all of you who have continued to make the message boards and these services great!

Be sure to spread the word to your friends, for those of you who post to the message boards, you know that sometimes you get those 10%-20% coupons magically arriving in your mailboxes for supporting the community!

Can you explain uploading images inline for me? I can post pics that I have stored (currently using photobucket), but I'm totally lost when you talk about posting images inline! Thanks!

Would be happy to explain "inline" images to you.... There are currently two ways to have a picture show up in your messages.....

The first is inline and your do it by clicking on the "Picture" icon in your message compose window, it's the one that looks like Mountains and the Sun, the 5th from the right on the second row. You will then be prompted for a location of your picture. Since you use Photobucket, you would put your URL link in the pop-up (Example URL: http://www.intotheoven.com/forum/images/misc/itoad.jpg) It will then post the picture in the e-mail like so...




Now, the other way you can do it, is by clicking on the "Attachment" icon, it's the one that looks like a paperclip in the compose window. From there you can select either pictures on your local computer or there is also the option to point to a URL as above. Doing it this way does not put the picture in the middle of the message like above, but "attaches" it to the message. I have also attached the above picture so you can see the difference.

Now, there will soon (approx a month or two) be a third way, every account will also have a photogallery tied to their account, so you will essentially have a Photobucket here at Into The Oven.

Ok, here goes.....

Hmmm....When I click on the attachment link (looks like a paper clip), all I see is the option to enter a url. I posted the smaller picture using the manage attachments. The larger picture is inline and I got that figured out okay....I think.
So...I got it...sort of, but not really.
