Alternate uses for pans...
Let's get creative! I've seen alternate uses for the lamb mold pan which was a nice surprise since mine only seemed to make lambs! I've seen cradles (trim the nose), a zebra (added Rice Krispie Treats to build up the head & attached with toothpicks or skewers), a calico cat, dogs (that had the nose trimmed & faced forward), a cow. I never knew!
One thing that I saw & copied was an alligator made out of the party hat pan which still makes me laugh when I see it. The one I copied was on a sheet cake made to look like water which I didn't have time for. Here's the pic...
Giant Cupcake pan - made to look like a tree (one had 2 giraffe heads poking out the top-real cute) or a vase of flowers.
Classic Wonder Mold - I made a Sponge Bob pineapple with it. I didn't fill it all the way but made sure the base would be over 6" & then made a 6" cake. Cut the crust from the wonder mold cake, placed it on top of 6" & carved the sides of the Wonder Mold down to the 6".
Contour pan makes a great handbag or hat.
Everytime I see the pennant pan, I think it would make a great witch's hat.
Heart pans - bride & groom busts, faces (with point for head) such as Santa or a Leprechaun. Why not put your favorite person's face on it? I thought about that making my Leprechaun which started looking like he had a goatee.
Any other ideas bakers?

Thanks! You can't be worse than me. My stars are awful. I try not to buy any pans unless they have multiple uses. I'm looking for multiple uses here.... Actually the bear pan is very versatile too. Wilton has a lot of alternate uses on their website. Wilton: Cake: Shaped Pans: Additional Pan Uses I did the tiger & that was actually fun to do but my stars are never uniform. Anything I do in buttercream isn't uniform.

Mini 3D Bear Pan = baby for a baby shower cake
On top of a larger cake...
(i did this once and it sort of looked more like a monkey then a baby, i think next time i'll trim off more of the snout?!) but all my friends got a good laugh out of it...so it was all good!

Actually, a monkey would be cute out of that stand up bear pan too. Carve it a little, mark it with the food markers, build up the ears. The babies are cute. Wilton even has one as an astronaut.
