Default Air Brushing

I would like to start air brushing, but I don't know what brand or type of gun to buy. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks
Amanda

I bought my airbrush a few months ago and am very pleased with it. I got it from Airbrush City. Their prices are very reasonable and so far, no problems with the airbrush at all.

This is the one I purchased:

I'm still a novice at airbrushing but one thing I'd make sure of is that you get a dual action using internal mix. Airbrush City has a pretty decent page describing the different styles of airbrushes.

Hi I dont know if you are still looking for an airbrush system but I noticed on this site www.cooksdream.com that they have airbrush systems and if you type in the code when you go to check out that is at the top of the page you can save 10% on orders over $99 and 15% over $199. I have been looking for an airbrush system as well and trying to get the best deal and have heard alot of good things said about the Airmaster system. Hope that helps

We have been carrying air brush colors, but we expect our first shipment of the complete air brush kits arriving sometime this coming week.

Just in time for a wonderful Christmas present.

You guys are really helpful! I'm at a crossroads about this. I go back and forth about getting into airbrushing. I really want to, but I don't know if I have the room for any more stuff!!
I'd love to know what kind of "space investment" it is. I'm pretty small-potatoes (I average about 1 cake per week), but with the advent of "Ace of Cakes" I'm being asked for all sorts of things! Is it worth all the money and space? Any advice?
Thanks!

I just got my airbrush system day before yesterday. I got it from the site Professional Cake Baking Pans Bakeware and Cake Decorating Supplies I had spoke of 2 weeks ago. It didnt take that long to get, plus I was able to get it for $238 that is with the discount and shipping. But I ordered my airbrush colors from the into the oven store, since they have such a good price on the airbrush color kits.

I bought my airbrush system this past summer. I haven't used it a lot, but it is so nice having it when I need it.

I used it today to airbrush my gumpaste bows. What a breeze! I just mixed half red fondant with gumpaste to make a light red for the loops. After putting the dried loops together, it took less than a minute to airbrush the bow to a nice deep red.

Imagine all the time and color paste it would have taken to get gumpaste to a dark red!

I bought mine online at airbrushcity.com. I got the mini compressor. It doesn't take a lot of space, maybe about the size of a football??, but heavy! I got a pretty good price and I'm very happy with it, but since they're going to carry them here, I'd definitely hold off and take a look here first.

I didn't know I could get the colors here! After all my Christmas decorating I'm just about out of red.

More shopping!!!
