Re: i'm going to freakin' SCREAM!
I dont use nuts very often but when I buy them I put them in a freezer bag (the new airtight ziploc ones) and use the machine to suck the air out and put it in the freezer. Works really good. I use it for my fondant too..HTH

Re: i'm going to freakin' SCREAM!
cool, I divide up my left over butter creams and put them in freezer bags too to get out later when I need some of 1 color but dont wanna make a whole batch of icing for a little. I also freeze white and then I can take out what I need and add color to it to make a particular color I need also.

Re: i'm going to freakin' SCREAM!
Is that little ziploc thingy worth the $? I've thought about it several times, but just didn't know....
2sdae, thanks for the BC tip! I never thought about keeping the little bit that's left over. I always end up throwing out about 1 cup of BC. But now I'll put it in the freezer for colors!

I dunno about the ziplock thingy you mentioned. I use the zip lock freezer bags and just squeeze all the air out.

If I only have a little left, I usually eat it, or give it to the kids. Buttercream does not go in the trashcan in my house!!!!!

I do not need the pounds it would make me gain, my 2 and 3 year old have ADHD so no go there either...my 15 year old would eat it with her hands if I let her.... .gif)
So into fridge it goes...well freezer, if in the fridge it magically gets finger prints and dips some how!

Re: i'm going to freakin' SCREAM!
i don't use nuts that often either. but i will definitely keep them in the freezer from now on...just in case. i stay pretty stocked. i only have 2 more cakes to do this week and i have 2 boxes of cocoa, 3 5lb bags of sugar, 3 boxes of cake flour, big a$$ 320z bottle of vanilla in the pantry. i pretty much keep that amount around. as for dairy stuff, i buy as i need. i have thrown out too many cartons of cream away! i am constantly buy eggs, milk and butter!!! i need my own cow and chicken!!!
