Default Castle Cake

How would a person go about the best way to fixing the turrets and being able to keep them in place when transporting? I have seen where people complained about the wilton castle set having a hard time keeping them upright. So I was wondering if anyone had a great way of fixing a cake like this. It is due for this weekend.

I haven't actually used the Wilton Castle set or seen it & I didn't have to travel with mine but I made a 5" square cake for Mom, I used the round plastic cake supports. I loused it up a bit & put in skewers to keep it in place & I put them onto the edges of the cake. Maybe you could use those or dowels?

I have a wilton kit, the older princess disney castle kit though. I havent used it yet. Could you use melted chocolate to help secure your posts/turrets to the are you wanted them in. At bottom of them and make sure your vines and such help glue them to the cakes. So maybe between the melted chocolate on bottoms and icing trailing between the sides of cake and turrets will hold well.

I used dowels to hold mine, but I also packed the whole family into the car to help me transport it. My husband has never driven that slow and I've never shaken so hard!! Good luck!
