Compounds/Flavorings
has anyone used the flavorings from choco-pan? Is this the flavorings that go between the cake? (I know dumb question) I only have purchased flavorings from my cake supply store here but they only sell 5 different ones, I am looking for other flavors I haven't tried yet. If you have used them are they good? Or do you know of another supplier? Thanks

Re: Compounds/Flavorings
was wondering what the compounds were, I am needing to fill cupcakes and cakes and was wondering what these compound and fillings were. They look like big buckets, but I am also looking for flavorings for buttercream, I see cupcakes with orange, mocha, raspberry buttercreams and was wondering what kind of buttercream they use, but maybe it is just the oils? I have not experienced flavoring my icing, so I am researching what I can, to offer more to my customers. Thanks.

Re: Compounds/Flavorings
Okay I looked further into the flavorings and they are jars of paste that can be used in buttercream, They looked like buckets to me at first, the price threw me off, a little expensive for a small jar. Yikes! Will keep looking for flavors, I will look into using the oils I guess. But I did order a sample of their choco-pan fondant, I hope it taste good. I love this site

Re: Compounds/Flavorings
elizw, during my research I have noticed a lot of different flavors of buttercreams that everyone is using for cupcakes and some cakes and thought I would research it a little farther. I have requests for mocha, and orange buttercreams but I have never personally changed my flavors, I am like you I tend to stick with the basic vanilla, almond, lemon trying to see what else is out there.

Re: Compounds/Flavorings
i do like to add some instant coffee granules to my chocolate icing for a mocha flavor. just have to beat the icing until the coffee is dissolved. i've also added caramel ice cream topping to my buttercream and mixed well. that was pretty good. other than that, i'm in a rut

Re: Compounds/Flavorings
I have used icing fruits, or loraine's oils, or you can use coffee creamers, or essences too.
icing fruits are in little white tubs and they are kinda expensive but it only takes teaspoons full to flavor a whole large batch of buttercreams.

Re: Compounds/Flavorings
