baking strips

is there such a thing as elastic baking strips? instead of pinning it would be nice to just have to stretch around the pan. has anyone seen anything like this?

there isn't but cutting strips of towels and pinning them isn't as hard to manage as those velcro things for me have you tried making your own this way maybe?

can you use towels? i use those silvery, heat resistant ones. what other options do i have??

i made my own but i think it's not working for me... the sides remain uncooked while the center of my cake was done LOL.

i just use old towels and soak them in water, wring them out a little and once i've greased and lined my pan, i pin the towels around the sides (outside of course) and then i pour the batter in. am i doing something wrong? and how thick should it be?

maybe yours are too thick cupcakeshoppe, my prob was oposit inside not done sides too done.

the towels are cheaper alternative, the strips work just the pinning sucks, but I bought some metal clips from business supply store and have used those too. Easier than pins.
