Default Recommendations for a new turntable

Hi all!!
I thought there was a post about this, but I can't seem to find it, forgive me if I'm repeating.
I have a cheap-o turntable that I love!! Just a basic plastic one, that works great. I would like to upgrade to a more sturdier one, maybe even a bigger one. I currently have approx. a 12 in diameted round one.

Anyone have suggestions on a good one?

I don't know about the fancy cake ones, but I have one from Ikea. $7! It's short, technically a lazy susan, so sometimes I have to put it up on something when I'm working. But, I really love it. It's 14" (I think?) and it spins really smoothly.
Just a cheap idea....

Thanks!!!
I never thought about the "lazy susan" idea. The price is good since I don't do cakes on a consistent basis to justify spending so much money on one thing.

Did you go to the new Bolingbrook Ikea? I heard it isn't as big as the Schaumburg one..

Yeah. I like the Schaumburg one better. It's set up better. I got lost in the smaller Bolingbrook store. Seriously.
Plus, who doesn't like more Ikea?
I really like my Ikea lazy susan!! I have some great large plastic bowls from there too. Oh....I could spend thousands there!! It's a good this that the nearest one is 4 hours away!

i don't do cakes often too. i use the spinning plate in our microwave. it works really well. i just realized I could put a tall can of coffee on top of it so I don't have to bend down a lot. i won't be making lots of cakes so this works for me, no extra spending.

Hhhmmmm, never thought about that! I have a glass plate in my microwave, and my luck I'd break it!
I like that idea though! Saves me money!

LOL! You got lost?

The Bolingbrook one is about 15 minutes from me. I have to at least try it. That's a big trip to go to either of them since they aren't close to you. Yikes!

Um...next time I'm planning on taking the F150. It's a stick shift with no air, and no cruise, but if I'm goin' to Ikea, I'm going to make it worth my while. You wanna come with me?
