Found a NEW use for cake scraps!!!

The wedding cake I delivered today... our neighbor (he's an older man who is just a down home country boy type) He was at the wedding and told my hubby tonight that "That was the best damned cake he'd ever tasted!" And if I ever have any leftovers I could send them his way!

I got a chuckle out of it because I am forever tossing them out or feeding them to the birds. So I may just send them his way next time!

LOL! You could package them up, tie a fancy ribbon on them and start a new business!

Ha! Sounds like something my stepdad would say. Well, just bundle'm up and send'm on over to him. I waste so much cake, it's pathetic. I usually send all that's in my freezer home w/ my mom & dad when they visit, but it fills right back up so quickly. Once the freezer's full, all other scraps just end up in the trash. I got no time for cake-ball'n right now. Maybe that's what I'll give away as Christmas presents this year...tins of cake balls.

The cake was a triple choolate fudge using my twisted version of the WASC recipe with the dark chocolate ganache filling and covered in dk choc. ganache. It is a really yummy cake.

I told my hubby next time I bake I will make a care package for the neighbors. They are our hillbilly bobs! There are 4 or 5 single guys all living together. One owns the house and rents out rooms to the others. They have 15 (no kidding) four wheel drive vehicles in their back yard. Thank heaven it is fenced in and we don't see much of them. They are all young excpet for Bob who is about 70. Most of our neighbors in the neighborhood despise them because their house is always hoppin but we just look at them as people. They are all nice as can be and treat us with respect so what more can you ask for. They can have my cake scraps anytime... the others accross the street would frown on the cake scraps I am sure!
