Default Help, Re: Strawberry pie filling?

Hi, I have a cake to do and she wants strawberry filling. Is it ok to use strawberry pie filling? or what about frozen strawberries and making the glaze? (which I'm not sure how to do anyway :-) )

I don't know about pie filling, but I do have a very easy recipe that I use for fruit fillings. I know it's not as easy as opening a can, but it's pretty close. I usually use frozen fruit, and mash it with a potato masher as it's cooking.

I don't know if the strawberry pie filling would work... I have made pie that way and it gets liquidy (is that a word?) It might make your cake soggy. Amanda's recipe is almost identical to what I use. It is simple too.
