I hate my oven!

I hate my oven, it runs super hot then cold. I never get the same results no matter what I'm baking. Anyhoo, I may be getting a new oven and would like to know if anyone loves their oven. I have a hotpoint that is about 10 years old ( its always been like this).

I dont have one but have cooked on many an awesome viking.
I havent really heard much about any others except convection ovens. And those reviews are all different too! So confusing.

Have you ever had your oven calibrated?
A coworker of mine just bought her stove 3 months ago and under their warrenty, she needs to have hers calibrated at least once a year.

I'm not sure what they do but it has soemthing to do with adjusting your oven's temperature?

We just bought our oven last year and got a GE. I love it, nothing super special on it. Does what I need to do, no complications! :-) I couldn't believe how expensive ovens were when we were looking!

I had to have our oven calibrated when we moved into our house we are in now. It still goes bony on me and fluctuates a lot. So I use a digital thermometer to keep track of it while baking and even have it set to warn me if it gets too hot or too cool.

Make sure when thy deliver your new stove that they level it and make sure the temp reading is true....I have heard a lot of stories about people getting new ovens and them being way off or having hot spots due to not being leveled correctly by installers.
