ok, so this afternoon I got bored! When you're used to have busy weekends with cakes to do, and then you have only one to make, you get bored! So I decided to play around and try things out. I had everything to make cakeballs except chocolate to cover them... but I had plenty of MMF, in various colors.

So I made cakeballs with marble cake scraps, added a little bit of buttercream to it, and some raspeberry candy flavoring. Rolled them and put them on cookie sheet, and up to the freezer. Meanwhile I got in my mmf and chose the purple one, and knead it. I've rolled some little fondant rounds and covered my frozen cakeballs with them... OMG it's yummy! (bad for my diet though

) Those would be nice with some royal icing decorations... I rolled each little round individually, and it took me the same time as if I dipped my cakeballs in chocolate. Next time I'll roll a big batch of fondant and cut each round with a cookie cutter, it will save me a lot of time!

Anyone else have tried cake balls covered in fondant before?
or any other ways to cover them, that you've actually tried?
Can you tell I was bored

that's what happens when a cake decorator is bored, new things come to life
