Default Topsy Turvy cake tutorial

I just wanted to ask how you guys do the topsy turvy cakes.
I found this tutorial and was wondering if anyone knows other tricks/process.

Let us know! I have tried a couple... without much success! I am not crazy about them so I haven't taken the time to learn. Too much work! That's why they charge sooo much for them.
If you love the whimsy cakes look at this website... she charges a minimum of $2000 for a cake! She is here in Oregon and was at the wedding fair last year. Her cakes are VERY yummy and very nice but very expensive!

Pollyscakes.com is her website. She did a cake for our daughter's friend last year. They only purchased a small cake from her and had me do single cakes for every table and the groom's cake.
