Default Comma Pans?

Does anyone own "comma" pans? Do you like them? They seem interesting - but I don't know if they have any real good applications - Anyone?

I have seen them but no reason to buy them. Have not had anyone ask for them so haven't taken the plunge.

I bought a set of fat daddios commas...havent had time to use them yet...but I love the way they look. I see more use of them in the the english and dutch decorating. So I see them in cake, craft & deco mag, or cakes & sugar craft mag.

Maybe once they hit the US magazines they will be more popular here. You are right 2sdae... the books I have seen them in are the Cake Craft Guide, Cake, etc.... all English based. Man to live over there... they have the coolest things!

Wilton may have some ideas for them. I think they're called the paisley pans. How about making a whale either up or laying flat?

I was looking through my Cake Craft Guide books and in one of them there is a round on the bottom with a comma stacked on it and a small round on top of that. Decorated for a wedding... Shows a little bit of variety for the use of the pan insetad of stacking one on top of another. It is a cute cake. What I am seeing with a lot of them is they put the flowers in the curve and it really does not show off the shape of the cake very well. I will look some more
