Cuppie advice
I just got my first cupcake order ever...yikes! Luckily it's for a friend. I don't remember the last time I made cuppies, and I need some advice.
1. what are the best liners to use?
2. the picture she picked had leveled cuppies, is this necessary?
3. any helpful tips for baking cuppies as opposed to cakes? Please?!
Thanks guys
the picture attached is from "mysugarcreations" flickr photo stream. I found them via google search

Re: Cuppie advice
I do a lot of cuppies but no one ever wants the leveled ones... have never done them! I love doing cuppies. I purchase aetco liners and wilton liners both and they are fine. I generally use the white ones but there are a ton of cute decorated ones available out there. Those cuppies in the photo are really cute. Good luck!

Re: Cuppie advice
Thanks! What about cupcake pans? All I have is some random teflon coated jumbo muffin pan that I've had for a couple years. Are Wilton cupcake pans as bad as their regular pans?

Re: Cuppie advice
I own wilton regular, king, mini and jumbo cupcake pans. I have no issues with them at all.
I use nut cups for cupcakes, cupcake papers what ever they fit in, can bake in and look cute.
As far as leveling them, you can , but I just fill them a little less and they bake up to the top and more flat and even with the paper.

Thanks 2sdae! That helps a lot! Do the nut cups fit snugly into the cupcake pans?

Re: Cuppie advice
the ones I got from wiltons are pretty good fit, in a regular cupcake size pan.

Re: Cuppie advice
Cool, thanks! I'm going to order some blue Fondarific from Fondantsource for the tops, and a couple colors too. *sigh* if I have too....
While I'm there I'll just add a couple wilton cuppie pans to my order.
Thanks for the tips...I'm off to shop!

My cupcake pans are all Wilton. I like how they clean up and are heavy sturdy pans. I need to buy 2 more of the mini cuppie pans though... it will speed up my baking time. It seems I spend too much wait time... If I had 4 pans I could have 2 in the oven and be filling the other 2 while those are baking. Would cut my baking time in half and pay for themselves really fast. Especially when I am doing a large order. I have 4 of the regular size ones. I have not purchased the jumbos... until someone asks... I don't buy a pan unless I have the need to. Once you get going on cuppies you will love them. They can be time consuming though. Be sure to post pix!
