Question about Pans
I have been using my "Wilton Professional" baking pans, and even with the flower nail in them, I still end up needing to level them. I don't mind doing this, it would just be nice if my cakes came out relatively flat after baking.
So I have been eyeing the Fat Daddios in the store here, and was wondering how much better than the ones I'm using they really are. I mean, what do these pans DO? Sorry, I just can't think of a better way to put it--are they better because they last longer, or because they perform better in baking?

Re: Question about Pans
TONS better! TONS!!! Take the plunge and buy them. I'm slowly (but surely!) replacing all my junky wilton pans with Fat Daddios.
They have a thicker side which is insulated better. I never have to use baking strips with my FD pans. I do still level every cake, but mainly because that's how I was taught and I'm afraid to not do it.
C'mon....just buy one. You know you want to. All the cool kids are doing it!!

Re: Question about Pans
I have Wilton Pro Pans but I just purchased Fat Daddios and I love these pans! I plan on purchasing one or more each month.

Re: Question about Pans
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your kind words about our pans. I do appreciate your support!
Our pans are at least 50% heavier than Wilton and are all anodized for health and safety benefits. Since you have never tried Fat Daddios, I am going to do my best to "convert" you. Email me your address and I will send you a free pan to try, no strings attached. I only ask for your feedback after trying it.
In addition, we are heading to ICES next week and will be featuring some new items. We have a whole series of new muffin/cupcake pans in standard sizes and even shaped muffin pans as well as dozens of other new pans and tools. I know Mt Baker will be there and I look forward to meeting anyone else from this board that will be attending. Please stop by and introduce yourself!
Thanks,
Greg

I sent you a PM. Thanks so much for the opportunity to try one of your pans!
Edited to add...I truly hope you are who you say you are, because my husband is soooo not happy with me for sending my address to someone on the internet without checking into it first. Yikes!!

See, this is what I told my husband!! He was all, "So You just sent your NAME AND ADDRESS to a RANDOM GUY on a MESSAGE BOARD?!!" I'm sooo glad to find out it really is legit haha. He wasn't mad, just freaked out that I would do something like that. You never can tell on the internet! Thanks for easing my mind! That's amazing that he would offer to let me try a pan. I'm sure that I will putting in my order for more the same day I try it!

Is it true we're supposed to bake in them @ 300 degrees? I'm still getting the bumps but I do love the way they bake. I love my 5x5x3!! I always overfill my pans by making 2 mixes for 10" or bigger & throw the leftover batter in that pan. I think I'm going to save it for a quick little dessert some time later but wind up using it for a "package", a mini cake & even a tent. I love making a little "scene" with the cakes.
