I baked the ugliest cake ever! LOL

So I finally baked! yay!!!! I am so happy.

I made a chocolate cake, very simple. a 9", 8" and 5". i know. weird sizes but i just wanted to try it. LOL

Disasters struck.

First instead of baking soda i used baking powder. duh. so irritating because I bought baking soda just to make this cake. am so out of it.

Second, i used 7 minute frosting (because it's easy and cheap and i don't know if i'm gonna paid for this cake yet) and when i started decorating it kept having air bubbles!

Third, i couldn't smooth the frosting so i just used sprinkles. SOOOO UGLY!

But the bonus part is the cake tastes good. I made a small cupcake for me to taste hehe. It's a little dense though, kinda brownie like.

I'm just happy i started baking again. i missed it and I missed you guys!

Just remember the quote... "All things are hard before they are easy!" Good luck and keep it up! We've all had disasters... my garbage can has been host to many failed attempts. My husband will be emptying the trash and says... "Looks like something didn't turn out quite right!"

A couple of weeks ago when baking two wedding cakes... I baked the tiers for one cake opposite of what they ordered. So instead of tossing them... I iced both with buttercream, swirled the frosting and took them with the second cake to the wedding. I knew they were having a huge crowd so I put the extra cakes in the kitchen and when the big cake ran out, we served the small ones. So it all worked out!

It tasted really good. it was quite dense though, as i mentioned like a brownie. nothing a tall glass of cold milk can't cure

Sounds yummy! It is all about how it tastes after all. Even if it looks amazing, if it tastes like crap who wants it? I would rather have something amazingly yummy any day. I am sure it was not as bad as you think!
